To unpack or to do… ANYTHING else?

I’m over this unpacking thing, especially since Chris  has been working 14-hour days for the last 10 days or so. We’ve (by “we” I mean me, see the sentence prior) found and unpacked the essentials and then my attention drifted a bit. First to the kitchen nook and then to the GREEN dining room.

You remember it, right?

Every.single.person. who has stepped into our home has asked if we will be painting this dining room. It was THAT bright and dark of a green. The photos really don’t do it justice.

So, with Chris working late, I got busy and the following day took my sister up on her birthday present to me: a certificate to help me paint a room in my new house.

Ahhh… much better, I think.

It is still a bit bare, but with time, our family tree will make it up on the wall with some other fabulous art (still t.b.d.)

I do have to share that the paint is Wharf by Miller, but I used Sherwin Williams paint. Why? Because Miller can’t even find this color in their system any more! The color is at least 7 years old. Did you know that you can go into Sherwin Williams and give them any paint color name by any brand and they can pull it up in their computer?! Just found this out myself. I also found out that two coats of their paint will cover anything. I was shocked when they told me there was no need to prime the green to cover it with my lighter paint, but I figured it was worth a try if it might save me time. It did! This is just two coats of paint over the green. I’m a Sherwin Williams fan now.

Oh, and the salesman told me that April 19-22 (I might have the end date wrong, call to check) everything is 40% off so… I think I’ll be figuring out paint colors this week and getting back in there to stock up!
